Low Histamine Mango Ice Cream

Modified Mango Ice Cream with Macadamia Oil

🧾 Ingredients

  • 1½ cups mango chunks (fresh or frozen)
  • ½ cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • ¼ cup maple syrup (or 6 pitted Medjool dates)
  • 1 cup oat milk (or other creamy plant milk)
  • 2–3 tablespoons macadamia oil (start with 2 tbsp and adjust for creaminess)
  • Optional: ½ tsp vanilla extract and a pinch of salt for flavor depth

🥣 Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender until completely smooth.
  2. Taste and adjust sweetness or oil for creaminess.
  3. Freeze in a sealed container for at least 4 hours.
  4. Soften at room temperature for 5–10 minutes before scooping.

💡 Why Macadamia Oil Works

  • It’s a neutral, buttery oil with a high fat content, which helps mimic the richness of nut butters.
  • It won’t overpower the mango flavour like coconut oil might.
